Emergency Vet Treatment

Please call us on 0131 287 2662 during our opening hours – we will always see your pet in an emergency.

When we are closed, please contact VidiVet (via the app) in the first instance. A vet will send you a personalised video response within minutes on any concerns you may have regarding your pet’s health. They will let you know whether it is safe to wait to see us at Heritage Vets in the morning, or whether you need to attend our Out Of Hours Service (see below)

How VidiVet works:

  • Click here to download the app.  Send your question to a vet at any time, day or night. You will receive a video reply from one of their vets within just a few minutes.Patients who are hospitalised with us at Heritage Vets during the day, will continue to be cared for by us here overnight as necessary depending on the level of care they require. This will always be discussed with you in detail.

In an acute, life-threatening emergency (or if recommended by VidiVet) please contact E-Vets at Braid Veterinary Hospital, 171 Mayfield Road, EH9 3AZ.

0131 662 1689 – please always call before setting off.

Estimate of consultation costs are outlined below. If your pet is hospitalised at E-Vets, they have excellent facilities and staff to care for them. Should they be well enough to travel, they will be discharged in the morning to come back to Heritage Vets for ongoing care. If they are not well enough to be discharged, they may stay at Braid Veterinary Hospital with owner approval.
